SBS Server are economic variants of our complex server antivirus protection, avast! Server Edition, with only one limitation: it can only be deployed on Windows Small Business Servers version 2000 and 2003 (not Windows 2000 or 2003 server!!).

Please check the version of System on your Server before your purchase - Right click on "My Computer", select "Properties" and read "System:". Windows

If you see:

  • "Microsoft Windows Server 2000 for Small Business Server..." or
  • "Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server ..."
BUT - if you don't see a reference to "Small Business Server, then you'll need the full Server product and any required plug-ins.

Similar to SBS 2003, avast! Small Business Server Edition comes in two variants.

The Standard version contains the following components:

  • avast! Server Edition, i.e. the antivirus kernel + file system protection
  • avast! Exchange Server plugin, to protect all traffic in the Exchange Server environment

The Premium version contains the following components:

  • avast! Server Edition, i.e. the antivirus kernel + file system protection
  • avast! Exchange Server plugin, to protect all traffic in the Exchange Server environment
  • avast! MS Proxy/ISA Server plugin, to protect the MS ISA Server

All these components are equivalent to our full-blown server side products - their only limitation is the fact that they are restricted to the Microsoft Small Business Server 2000/2003 environment.
